Health Care Bill & Abortion

There are many misconceptions out there in regards to abortions. The "talking heads" who are desiring for the Health Care Bill to be passed even with the "Stupak-Pitts" Ammendment attached to it. This ammendment essentially states that with the new Health Care Bill, none of the taxpayers dollars will pay for, subsidize, or in any way help in aborting babies.

"Obama told ABC News on Monday. "And I want to make sure that the provision that emerges meets that test -- that we are not in some way sneaking in funding for abortions, but on the other hand that we're not restricting women's insurance choices." - Fox News

This goes to show that the woman's right to choose outweighs the child's right to life. On the one hand President Obama doesn't want ANY money from this bill to help fund abortions, but on the other hand he doesn't want women to be restricted as to whether they want to kill their child or not based on money that will help them.

Now we get to the misconceptions, because many people will say, "What about the women who can't afford a baby or want to abort because of rape?" Here are some abortion statistics .

Who's having abortions (income)?
Women with family incomes less than $15,000 obtain 28.7% of all abortions; Women with family incomes between $15,000 and $29,999 obtain 19.5%; Women with family incomes between $30,000 and $59,999 obtain 38.0%; Women with family incomes over $60,000 obtain 13.8%.

That's right 38% abort who make $30,000-60,000. A total of 71.3% make over %15,000 (a little under the average salary for a school teacher).

Why women have abortions
1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest; 6% of abortions occur because of potential health problems regarding either the mother or child, and 93% of all abortions occur for social reasons (i.e. the child is unwanted or inconvenient).

93% of babies are killed because of "social reasons". It might not be popular for them to have a child, the child's life is inconvenient to them, or they simply didn't bother to think that their might be consequences from their actions. There are about 3,700 abortions committed each day. That means 3,341 of those are aborted for "social reasons" each day.

From that statistic, how many of those babies who are killed for social reasons, will be supported by yours and my tax dollars if this stupak ammendment doesn't slide by?

I don't often get political, but when my money, that I work for might end up helping a mother kill her child, I have to stand up for life. After personally living through the death of our unborn child and the pain that we went through, there is NO WAY that I will help others kill their unborn children.
